Sermon on the Mount 2004
"You have heard that it is said that God is not involved in life
today; that He built Creation, wound it like a watch, and has been watching it
ever since. Yet I tell you that He loves you and is with you every minute of
every day."
"You have heard that it is said that evolution is truth, and all
living things have changed and evolved over millions of years. Yet I tell you
to study the woodpecker's tongue and learn that no biologist can tell how it
evolved that way. The same is true of the bumble bee with its many parts that
work together so perfectly, they all would have had to evolve together, as if
by design."
"You have heard that the 3rd Commandment condemns cursing. Yet
I tell you that while cursing is bad, this commandment condemns those that
claim to serve God while still serving themselves. They want to be known as
Godly, and to receive glory, yet He will not let them go unpunished, they
already have their reward!"
"You have heard that it is said that the Christian life is all
praise & glory if you are in God's will, and that all suffering is reserved for
sinners. Yet I tell you that your life on Earth is your one and only chance to
allow God to mold your character and to prepare you for either eternal service
to Him or eternal separation from Him."
"You have heard that it is said that only good people go to
heaven, yet I tell you that there is none who is good, not one. Only those that have built a friendship with God
while in this life will get an invitation to the party at His home. Do not give
God the opportunity to say, "I never knew you"."
"You have heard that it is said that Satan is a powerful
prince, and in command of life on this Earth. Yet I tell you that every prince,
even Satan, answers to and is restrained by the King. In Job's life as in all
others, both Satan and the demons can only do what The Father has permitted
them to do."
"You have heard that "bad things happen to good people". Yet I tell you that you do
not understand what is bad or good, and that everything that happens to you,
whether you think it 'bad' or 'good' happens for your good. Allow the Father to
mold you into a vessel for His service as He sees fit."
"You have heard it said that a sculptor frees a statue from the
stone in which it hidden by chipping away. I tell you that The Father frees
your from the destiny your heart of stone deserves by chipping away at who you
were to reveal whom you are in His sight."
"You have heard it said that all humanity will face a final judgement one day. I tell you that on that day Satan will accuse every one of
you of the sins against God which you have committed. I also tell you that on
that day I shall pardon my friends and servants."
"You have heard that evil is cruelty, malice and hatred. Yet I
tell you that anyone that serves themselves and thinks only of themselves is
evil, not only in the eyes of others, but in the eyes of God. Be careful when
you choose whom to serve, you have only two choices. Serve yourself, and Satan
will help you, serve God, and Satan will try to hinder you."
"You have heard that it is said that all wealthy people are
criminals, yet I tell you that love of money, not possession is the root of all
evil. Many lust for that which they do not have, even money. God may have given
them that money to test your heart, and to learn where your heart's treasure
lies."
"You have heard that it is said that God helps those that help
themselves, yet I tell you that God helps those that help God."
"You have heard that it is said that your prayers are your
opportunity to 'claim in faith' that which you desire. Yet I tell you that your
prayers are your obligation to learn to surrender your soul, and to pray "not my will, but Yours be done"."
"You have heard that it is said that your tithes should go to
your local church, that they may build fine buildings which will glorify God.
Yet I tell you that your tithes should go to any organization that may build
souls that will serve & glorify Our Father."
"You have heard it said that salvation is only through Jesus,
and that is true. Yet I tell you that no guest tells the master of the house
whom to invite. It is the master who chooses whom to invite, and all those who
come to the house in response to their invitation shall be allowed in by the
one opening the door."
